What exactly do I receive?
Each package includes a letter written by fictional characters inspired by true events and historic records, a historic photo relating to the story, a collectible recipe card with cooking instructions, and a shopping list. Some letters also come with notes featuring key facts or helpful tips, talking points for deeper discussions with loved ones, stickers, or other surprise items. Each series is unique.
What subscription plans are available?
We offer several ways to subscribe. Monthly ($17/mo) lets you choose a series and receive one letter per month with full flexibility to cancel anytime. 6-Month ($85) covers a complete series upfront at a savings. We also offer a Gift 6-Month ($85) option — a complete series sent to someone special.
When will my first letter arrive?
Letters are mailed on the 10th of every month. If you subscribe after the 10th, we’ll send your first letter on the 25th so you’re not waiting long—then you’ll receive all following letters on the 10th as usual.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Monthly subscribers can cancel anytime — no questions asked. Prepaid 6-month plans are non-refundable, but you’ll continue receiving all remaining letters in your plan.
How do gift subscriptions work?
During checkout for the Gift 6-Month plan, you’ll enter the recipient’s name and shipping address. You can also include a personal message. The first letter ships directly to your gift recipient within 5–7 business days.
Do I need special ingredients?
Most of the time, our recipes call for simple, everyday ingredients you already have in your kitchen. Occasionally a historic recipe will call for something unique — when it does, we include substitutions in the notes and a shopping list packaged with each letter so you’re never left guessing.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the United States. International shipping is something we’re actively working on — join our mailing list to be notified when it becomes available.
What happens after the 6-month series ends?
As your series wraps up, we’ll notify you so you can choose your next series — no auto-renewals on 6-month plans, no surprises.
